Action Shooting Re-Certification Test

Action Shooting Re-Qual Written Test

Thank you for your interest in Action Shooting.

  • Our goal is to provide a safe shooting environment for you and all our members.
  • You are required to read and demonstrate your knowledge of the current Action Shooting Range Rules.
  • Please answer these questions using the current Range Rules - Effective August 1, 2019 - Revised April 20, 2020.
  • This is an open book quiz, take your time and read each question carefully.
  • A score of 14 correct answers out of 15 questions is required to pass.
  • You will have two chances to successfully complete this Re-Qualification Test.

1. Only handguns and rifles are allowed in the Utility (AS) Shooting Ranges. *
2. Fingers must stay out of the trigger guard, indexed high on the frame or side until ready to fire. *
3. Anyone can draw from holster on the Utility Ranges and Steel Plate Rack. *
4. At no time should the muzzle be aimed over any berm. *
5. The Utility ranges may be used while others are using the 5-Stand range. *
6. Shooting steel with centerfire rifles or pistols with bottleneck cartridges, except for .357 SIG is prohibited. *
7. Tracer ammunition is allowed on the Utility Ranges. *
8. Shooters without AS certification may only draw from the holster during an AS certification class or private instruction by a certified draw from holster instructor or during AS events supervised by an AS range officer. *
9. All targets must be positioned so that bullets impact the middle section of the berm. *
10. Reactive steel targets must be located within a couple of feet of the berm. *
11. Only lead shot sized #7.5, #8 or #9 may be used when shooting steel targets with a shotgun. *
12. On a cold range all firearms must be verified unloaded and holstered or cased before anyone goes down range. *
13. Exploding targets are allowed in the Utility Ranges. *
14. On a hot range, pistols must remain holstered and PCC, rifle and shotguns must be carried slung, muzzle down, safeties on. *
15. Eye and ear protection is not needed when using silencers/suppressors. *
