I've been the President of CRGC for the past 7 years. It has been my responsibility and my pleasure to steer the operations and improvements of the Club.
Since becoming a member of the Club, I've been involved in numerous projects, including:
- The design and building of the current outdoor pistol range
- Getting electricity to the outdoor rifle and pistol ranges
- Enrolling the Club in the State AED program and obtaining and installing the current AED / First Aid program
- Creating the Instructor Policy
- Getting draw from a holster approved
Some of my accomplishments as the Club President include:
- Lead reclamation at the Action Shooting Pits, the Pin Pit, the Plate Range and the Outdoor pistol and rifle ranges
- Tire removal from the outdoor range berms, which result in safer ranges
- Implemented the current indoor pistol range/ready room cleaning procedure, resulting in lower lead levels inside the clubhouse
- Implemented the Incident Review Committee
- Passed the current policy of better screening of new members
- Implemented the streamlined procedures for joining the club
- Worked on repairing the Club's reputation with neighbors and with other towns-people and officials
- Promoted CRGC for Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Affiliation, which was awarded
In addition to my current responsibilities as the Club President:
- I assist Kevin Laliberte with the mandatory Safety Seminar for new members every month
- I provide First Aid/CPR/AED training for all Club trained Range Safety Officers
- I assist Don Torrisi with the Hunter Education Program
- I assist Mike King and Dale Carney with the 4H Junior Rifle and Archery League
This year we, as a Club, have been able to accomplish the following:
- An enhanced Membership Database System that will better support membership enrollments, renewals and communications, as well as serve as the basis for running reports and analytics about trends the Club is experiencing.
- A soon to be rolled out Electronic Membership Application and Renewal System that will interface directly with the Club’s new Membership Database System.
- Moving the Club’s web environment to a new, state-of-the-art hosting server that will provide better performance and the highest level of security protocols (this was achieved at no additional cost to the club)
- A new, well-organized, robust, and secure website which will support:
- Direct correspondence with Club officers, BOD Members, Committee Chairpersons, and Discipline Chairpersons
- An electronic New Membership and Renewal Application System
- The online sales of Club logo apparel
- Online enrollment into class sessions and training opportunities
- An online Members Classified Ads System
- The security for deploying an online polling system and potentially an online voting system
- New fiber optic, gate security and video surveillance systems
- Realized site plan from Town of Chester for Clays Shed
- Engineering study of Clubhouse for the planning of improvements or rebuilding
- Safety improvements for the Outdoor Rifle and Pistol Range shed roofs
- Working to develop a formal process for Active Range Maintenance and Management (Indoor Pistol Range Maintenance, Outdoor No Blue Sky study)
Things I would like to accomplish:
- No Blue Sky on the Rifle and Pistol Ranges
- Update the Indoor pistol range
- Continue to make improvements to the Clubhouse and Grounds
- Continue to improve safety at the club
I would really appreciate your vote this November.
